Pipsqueak is 13 days old today and he’s already showing his true colors. Here are 13 facts about our sweet little guy:
1. He rolled over last Monday (on his 4th day). We, too, thought it was a fluke accident but he did it again twice more that day and has done it a few times since.
2. He has slept 6+ hours the past two nights (10 to 4ish) which puts him in the “sleeping through the night” category (at 12 days old)
3. He sleeps through anything, except for the lawnmower. His brother screaming, his sister crying, my ridiculous cough (that finally subsided, yay!)
4. He loves to snuggle. Even though he’s a good sleeper, his most favorite place is in mommy’s arms (and I’m okay with it, these are my last newborn snuggles!)
5. He’s an awesome nurser. He spent his first hour and half happily on the boob and has been going strong ever since with none of the early problems I had with the others. He usually opens his mouth nice and wide, grunts, moves his head side to side and grabs the boob, easy peasy!
6. He poops and pees, a lot! I feel like I spend all day changing his diaper (and clothes) but he doesn’t mind and I’m getting better at not getting sprayed!
7. After an initial drop of almost 1/2 a pound in his first day, he’s officially gained all of that back and then some (he weighed in at 9 pounds, 12 ounces this morning!)
8. I’m obsessed with his head. His speedy arrival meant he came out with a perfectly gorgeous, round head and his hair is soooo soft, I could just spend all day rubbing his amazing little head!
9. He’s a happy guy. In the car, snuggled in my sling, in someone else’s arms, so long as he’s not hungry, tired or wet he’s a very content boy (something we desperately needed after our two fussy-pantsies!)
10. He’s wearing the same clothes Doodle did at this time of year. Doodle was 4 months old by September.
11. He’s super sucky. From the very beginning, he’s wanted to suck on anything that gets near his mouth, I anticipate another thumb sucker like Honeybun was.
12. He loves being upright. Anytime he’s awake, he wants to be sitting up, looking around. He hates laying down except when he’s passed out.
13. I love him. Despite being nothing I had imagined, he is the sweetest baby and I am so thankful to have him!
