Carnival Cruising

A big Thank You! To Carnival for hosting our group, Bloggin’ Mamas for organizing the adventure and Earth Friendly Products for sponsoring the event!

The very first cruise hubby and I took was for our honeymoon, aboard a Carnival ship.  I had cruised many times before with my family but it was hubby’s first experience.  We did a four-night trip from Miami to Key West and Cozumel (hubby had to be in Paris for work a week after the wedding and I had to return to my classroom so we only had time for a short jaunt.)

We had a great time but, truthfully, left the experience a little let down.  After all my family experiences, the Carnival ship just didn’t live up to my expectations and even hubby left feeling underwhelmed not really interested in cruising again.

Since that first cruise together, we’ve taken three more with our girls and we love cruising with our family for so many reasons.  But those trips were on other cruise lines and we’d not yet ventured back onto a Carnival ship.  So when I was invited to attend an exclusive tour of the latest Carnival ship, the Breeze, I was eager to check them out again.

And I have to admit, I was surprised.  The ship, sailing since 2012 and one of Carnival’s newest, is nothing like the Carnival ship we cruised on almost 8 years ago!

Taking a cruise now really is like being in a tiny city in the sea.  You have tons of shops, restaurants, bars, and nightclubs to hang out in.  Plus the pools, spa, sports courts and children’s activity centers.  It is really impossible to bored on board a modern cruise ship and there is truly something for everyone!

And as your home on the sea, there are also many different state rooms to choose from.  You can start with the most affordable inside state rooms:

All the way up to a super luxurious Grand Suite!

During our tour we were treated to a special Mother’s Day Brunch in the dining room (one of the MANY dining options) and the food was exquisite! The four-course meal we were presented was beautiful and tasted divine.  One of the highlights of cruising is the all you can eat component in which you are free to try anything and everything you wish.  You can order multiple appetizers, entrees and/or desserts at meals and there is food and drinks available 24/7 when on board.

Most ships are now including not only kids centers for little ones and casinos for adults, but fun activities for kids of all ages including arcades, water slides as well as many shows and different experiences.

And while we love the ease of cruising with kids, most ships have now begun to introduce adult-only zones beyond the bars, casino and clubs where children are not allowed including private pool desks, the gym and the spa.

I was definitely impressed with what Carnival now has to offer and will definitely be putting them back on my list for the next time we want to take a family cruise (when I’m not pregnant…and we don’t have a baby under 6 months old…so in another year or so!)
