When I chose to “Skip the Spoon,” and go with baby led weaning, I knew it would be a lot easier than spoon feeding, but I never expected it to be so entertaining!
Day 1 (Thanksgiving): Butternut Squash
“So, I just eat this big white thing, right?”
“Hmmm, that’s new…”
Day 8: Rice Puffs
“I’ve got this, just shovel them in!”
Day 18: Steamed Rice
“Who needs clothes? I’ll just stick this stuff all over me!”
Day 20: Apples
“It’s ok Mommy, I’ll do the spooning”
“This Fork thing is AMAZING!”
Day 27 (Christmas Eve): Carrots
“Really, Mommy? Can’t a boy just eat in peace for once?!”
Day 28 (Christmas): Sweet Potatoes
“Well, this is a new vessel for my food…”
“It’s squishy between my fingers.”
“I think I like this sweet potato stuff.”
“Don’t you DARE touch my sweet potatoes!”
Day 35 (New Year’s Day): Avocado
“Man, this eating business is tiring work!”
“I’ve heard avocado masks are great for you skin…”
“Mom, you’re embarrassing me!”
Day 47: Broccoli
“Big Bite!”

“This stuff is healthy? I can’t hear you, I can’t hear you!”
Day 50: more Squash
“These sister people sure are handy to have around!”
“This. Is. AWESOME!”
“Like this?”
“Maybe if I lift my head just a little bit higher…”
“You mean this way? Ah, so much easier!”
Day 52: Snapea Crisps
“What’s the word? Crunchy?”
Day 64: Kiwi
“Sour! Kiwi is not my favorite!”
Day 70: Prunes
“I’ll just take all of these, thank you very much!”
Day 75: Spinach and Chicken
“Daddy, we’re waiting for you so we can start…”
“This sure is messy, but delicious!”
Day 84: more Banana
“Don’t forget the tongue! I’ll help. Clean my tongue too, please!”
Day 88: Chicken and Sweet Potatoes
“Time for seconds!”
“Here Daddy, I’ll share!”
“Oooh, what’s this delectable morsel?!?”
“All gone!”
