I&#8217;ve always shied away from trying to make homemade marshmallows before because it seemed overly complicated but I figured, why not just give it a try? \u00a0It can&#8217;t possibly be Salt<\/li>\n<li>Powdered Sugar for dusting<\/li>\n<li>1 cup size Measuring Cup<\/li>\n<li>Stand Mixer with Wisk Attachment<\/li>\n<li>Saucepan<\/li>\n<li>Spatula<\/li>\n<li>8&#215;8 Baking Pan<\/li>\n<li>Parchment Paper<\/li>\n<li>Candy Thermometer<\/li>\n<li>Multiple kids of various ages<\/li>\n<li>1 large roll of Paper Towels<\/li>\n<li>1 bottle Countertop Cleaner<\/li>\n<li>a pinch of Insanity<\/li>\n<li>a crap ton of Patience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How to make homemade marshmallows with kids:<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Gather all your\u00a0supplies and children.<\/li>\n<li>Have your 5-year-old fill the measuring cup with water.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/s-marshmallow.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" clean up the water she spills.<\/li>\n<li>Add gelatin and 1\/2 cup water to bowl of stand mixer.<\/li>\n<li>Put remaining water in saucepan.<\/li>\n<li>Ask your 7-year-old measure out 1 cup of remove squeezy lid from honey and fill the rest of the measuring cup.<\/li>\n<li>Add honey, vanilla and salt to saucepan, mix with spatula and place over medium-high heat.<\/li>\n<li>Tell 5-year-old NOT to bring a chair over by the stove.<\/li>\n<li>Remind kids not to touch the stove because it&#8217;s hot.<\/li>\n<li>Wipe 2 year old&#8217;s hands and face with wet paper towel after he helps himself to the honey stuck in the measuring cup.<\/li>\n<li>When honey mixture comes to a boil, put in candy thermometer.<\/li>\n<li>Again, remind kids not to touch the stove because it&#8217;s still hot.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare baking pan by lining with two pieces of parchment paper and sprinkle bottom with powdered sugar.<\/li>\n<li>Watch temperature and your children get bored and leave the kitchen one by one.<\/li>\n<li>Retrieve screaming baby and begin to nurse while watching temperature of honey mixture.<\/li>\n<li>See 2-year-old trying to sprinkle the sugar all over the counter, cupboards and floor (atop the chair you asked the 5-year-old not to bring over). \u00a0Clean with paper towels and cleaner while trying not to yell.<a about to boil over and reduce the heat.<\/li>\n<li>Check temperature (you&#8217;re looking for mixture to reach 240 degrees Fahrenheit).<\/li>\n<li>Wait. And wait.
