Sometimes I like to re-write songs\/poems to match my life (like my “Two Weeks Before Christmas”<\/a> and “In Summer”<\/a>). \u00a0So here’s my latest version of Jingle Bells:<\/p>\n

Dashing through the rain
\nWith a baby in my sling
\nO’er the puddles we go
\nMy toddler whining all the way!
\n“Rain go away” my daughter sings
\nMaking my ears sore
\nNo fun it is to drag this crew
\nThrough a big downpour!<\/h4>\n

Oh! Jingle bells, we’re not well
\nWe’ve all got a cold
\nThe runny noses and grumpy kids
\nIs getting really old.
\nJingle bells, I’m not well
\nI just might lose my mind
\nOh, what fun it is to parent
\nDuring Christmastime!<\/h4>\n

A day or two ago
\nI thought that we’d have fun
\nBut everything fell apart
\nAnd now I’m just done!
\nThe kids don’t listen to me
\nAnd the baby doesn’t sleep at night
\nI just hope someday they see
\nSo our holidays can be bright!<\/h4>\n

Jingle bells, my toddler smells
\nIt’s rank like rotten eggs
\nNo fun for me when he eats cheese
\nAnd hubby is away. Yay!
\nJingle bells, I’m not well
\nI just might lose my mind
\nOh, what fun it is to parent
\nDuring Christmastime!<\/h4>\n

My shopping list is 10 miles long
\nAnd the date is getting near
\nI still have tons to do and
\nThere isn’t much holiday cheer.
\nGifts and cards and dinner,
\nIt’s all too much for me
\nBut I’m going to get it done,
\nYou just wait and see!<\/h4>\n

Oh, jingle bells, now the baby smells
\nHe projectile vomited everywhere
\nAnd then my daughter, trying to help,
\nDropped dirty diapers on the stairs, oy!
\nJingle bells, I’m not well
\nI just might lose my mind
\nOh, what fun it is to parent
\nDuring Christmastime!<\/h4>\n

The presents are not wrapped,
\nI thought I had more time
\nBut the days are flying by
\nAnd coming soon is the deadline.
\nThere’s so much I’d like to do:
\nMake cookies, crafts and fudge
\nBut the baby feeds so much
\nFrom the couch I can not budge!\"presents\"<\/a><\/h4>\n

Jingle bells, something fell
\nI need to investigate
\nBecause now the kids are screaming loud
\nAnd I’ll have to mitigate.
