list of gifts\u00a0I\u00a0<em>don&#8217;t<\/em> want for my kids this year! \u00a0(See <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/2014\/11\/19\/2014-thank-list\/\">2014 <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/2013\/12\/13\/my-no-thank-you-list\/\">2013<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve got a new baby at home and tons of new baby gadgets have come out since I amassed my stash of baby gear with baby #1 over 7 years ago.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/no-thank-you.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9802\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/no-thank-you.png\" alt=\"no thank you\" width=\"1152\" height=\"602\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/no-thank-you.png 1152w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/no-thank-you-300x157.png 300w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/no-thank-you-600x314.png 600w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/no-thank-you-390x204.png 390w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/no-thank-you-1024x535.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/no-thank-you-1000x523.png 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1152px) 100vw, 1152px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>But many of the &#8220;must have&#8221; items that came out this year seem more like baby torture devices to me, like:<\/h4>\n<h3>&#8220;Womb-like&#8221; swaddlers<a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/ORIGINAL-HEATHER-GRAY-WOOMBIE.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-9727\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/ORIGINAL-HEATHER-GRAY-WOOMBIE-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"ORIGINAL-HEATHER-GRAY-WOOMBIE\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/ORIGINAL-HEATHER-GRAY-WOOMBIE-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/ORIGINAL-HEATHER-GRAY-WOOMBIE-100x100.jpg 100w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/ORIGINAL-HEATHER-GRAY-WOOMBIE-250x250.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/ORIGINAL-HEATHER-GRAY-WOOMBIE.jpg 415w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/h3>\n<p>I&#8217;m all for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/2013\/06\/03\/its-a-wrap\/\">swaddling<\/a>, in fact I may be a little\u00a0<em>too<\/em> avid with the swaddling, having swaddled all of my older three kids well <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/2014\/04\/17\/update-its-a-wrap\/\">past 6 months<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/2015\/09\/07\/the-first-few-days-with-pipsqueak\/\">Pipsqueak<\/a>, however, has never liked being swaddled\/contained, even in my tummy he just wanted to stretch out). \u00a0But I feel like these &#8220;womb-like&#8221; swaddlers are just mean. \u00a0They&#8217;re designed to let the baby wiggle a little within the swaddle while still helping them feel secure, but one of the great things about blanket swaddling is that with a little wiggling, the baby\u00a0can escape from even a super tight swaddle\u00a0if and when they want to (rest assured, though, the blanket doesn&#8217;t pose a risk as it stays under their bodies and really can&#8217;t get over their faces)<\/p>\n<h3>Clean Hands Changing Pad<a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/slide-1-image.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-9728\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/slide-1-image-300x212.jpg\" alt=\"slide-1-image\" width=\"400\" height=\"283\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/slide-1-image-300x212.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/slide-1-image-600x423.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/slide-1-image-354x250.jpg 354w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/slide-1-image-1024x723.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/slide-1-image-1000x706.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/h3>\n<p>I mean, seriously. \u00a0Part of the parenting game is dealing with grabby hands during diaper changes and while it&#8217;s not the most fun part of parenting, it&#8217;s also an AWESOME teachable moment. \u00a0While this device is I&#8217;m sure convenient for mommy, it really takes away from some important life lessons like &#8220;don&#8217;t touch poop&#8221; Plus, what about the hair that&#8217;s under the cap? \u00a0I think I&#8217;ll just stick to laying the baby back and using small amounts of water over the back of his head.<\/p>\n<h4>And some new baby items are just plain dangerous, such as:<\/h4>\n<h3>FlyeBaby<\/h3>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/flyebaby-airplane-infant-seat-and-comfort-system-2_1024x1024.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-9726\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/flyebaby-airplane-infant-seat-and-comfort-system-2_1024x1024-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"flyebaby-airplane-infant-seat-and-comfort-system-2_1024x1024\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/flyebaby-airplane-infant-seat-and-comfort-system-2_1024x1024-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/flyebaby-airplane-infant-seat-and-comfort-system-2_1024x1024-100x100.jpg 100w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/flyebaby-airplane-infant-seat-and-comfort-system-2_1024x1024.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/flyebaby-airplane-infant-seat-and-comfort-system-2_1024x1024-250x250.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/flyebaby-airplane-infant-seat-and-comfort-system-2_1024x1024-60x60.jpg 60w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/h3>\n<p>First off, the safest place for any person (babies and toddlers included) is buckled in their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/2014\/07\/17\/infant-safety-in-the-air\/\">own seat<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/2014\/03\/06\/car-seat-safety\/\">in a car seat<\/a> for little ones). \u00a0There are so many things that could go wrong with this device from the tray table which holds it up falling to turbulence bouncing the baby out to mommy smashing the baby into the seat back. \u00a0Seriously, just spend the extra money on a ticket for your baby and actually keep him\/her safe.<\/p>\n<h3>Bottle Slings<a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/51DLVXB6iML.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-9723\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/51DLVXB6iML-233x300.jpg\" alt=\"51DLVXB6iML\" width=\"400\" height=\"515\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/51DLVXB6iML-233x300.jpg 233w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/51DLVXB6iML-300x387.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/51DLVXB6iML-194x250.jpg 194w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/51DLVXB6iML.jpg 388w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/h3>\n<p>The worst, seriously, the worst. \u00a0Where to begin&#8230;
