Today marks our official journey back to homeschooling after our baby break. \u00a0And while we’ve all enjoyed the relaxed (but busy) days as we have settled into life with Pipsqueak, I have to admit I’m looking forward to getting back to a little more of a routine where hopefully the kids will all stop driving my crazy with their arguing and being rotten to each other.<\/p>\n

But unfortunately, I feel wildly unprepared to jump back in to it because I had big plans to get a lot done in preparation and I unfortunately didn’t get any of it done.<\/p>\n

I didn’t get the kindergarten and 2nd grade standards printed up nor did I read through them to assess where the girls are in their journeys.<\/p>\n

I didn’t get more reading response cards<\/a> printed up for Honeybun nor has Sugarplum read to us every day like I told her she needed to.<\/p>\n

I didn’t get any book units sorted out for all the classics I want to read with my children.<\/p>\n

I didn’t get their recording sheets printed up to keep track of their work completed and progress.<\/p>\n

I didn’t get all our new materials and supplies I snatched up at the back to school sales organized.<\/p>\n

And we only got through 3 1\/2 chapters of\u00a0The Boxcar Children<\/em> after I promised Honeybun we could read it after the baby came since we’d have lots of time while the baby nursed.<\/p>\n

But somehow we’ll manage, just as we always have. \u00a0We’ll bumble along and get things done and I’ll try my best to manage all the things (school, activities, cooking, laundry, more unpacking, decorating, toddler, baby, blog…). \u00a0I know the girls\u00a0will argue with everything I ask them to, as they always do. \u00a0And Doodle will bother them and drive me crazy when they actually do do what they’re supposed to. \u00a0And the baby will always need me when I’m least able to meet his needs. \u00a0And I’ll probably fail miserably at many of them but that’s life and I know we’ll come out just fine on the other end!<\/p>\n

But first, maybe we need to find their desks again…<\/p>\n
