{"id":9172,"date":"2015-09-25T09:14:08","date_gmt":"2015-09-25T13:14:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/?p=9172"},"modified":"2015-09-25T09:14:08","modified_gmt":"2015-09-25T13:14:08","slug":"getting-out-with-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/2015\/09\/25\/getting-out-with-4\/","title":{"rendered":"Getting Out with 4"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s a phenomenon I&#8217;ve noticed over time: with each baby added to the family, I&#8217;m a little <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/2013\/12\/16\/mommy-time\/\">later getting places<\/a>. \u00a0Now with 4, I think I&#8217;m destined to always be late getting places and it&#8217;s no wonder why! \u00a0This is what it takes to get everyone ready and out the door:<\/p>\n<p>Send girls upstairs to get dressed.<\/p>\n<p>Bring boys up, carrying Pipsqueak and holding Doodle&#8217;s hand.<\/p>\n<p>Remind girls they&#8217;re supposed to be getting dressed.<\/p>\n<p>Send Doodle into his room to get a clean diaper.<\/p>\n<p>Change Pipsqueak&#8217;s diaper and get him dressed while listening to Doodle scream because it&#8217;s dark in his room.<\/p>\n<p>Tell girls to stop arguing and get dressed.<\/p>\n<p>Head into Doodle&#8217;s room to change his diaper.<\/p>\n<p>Ask Doodle what he wants to wear.<\/p>\n<p>Tell the girls to get out of the baby&#8217;s room and get dressed.<\/p>\n<p>Fold and put back 5 shirts and 6 pairs of shorts that don&#8217;t match.<\/p>\n<p>Finally agree on an outfit that\u00a0<em>almost\u00a0<\/em>matches and get Doodle dressed.<\/p>\n<p>Go to my room to get myself dressed as Doodle screams because he&#8217;s ready to go.<\/p>\n<p>Tell the girls to brush their hair and find their shoes.<\/p>\n<p>Pee and put some clothes on.<\/p>\n<p>Brush my hair and put on deodorant while Doodle continues to scream.<\/p>\n<p>Head downstairs with the boys to find the girls playing.<\/p>\n<p>Tell girls, again, to brush their hair.<\/p>\n<p>Ask Doodle to find his water and listen to him scream because he doesn&#8217;t know where it is.<\/p>\n<p>Sit down to feed Pipsqueak one last time before we go.<\/p>\n<p>Ask girls to fill up my water bottle.<\/p>\n<p>Remind girls, again, to get their shoes on.<\/p>\n<p>Ask Doodle to bring me his shoes.<\/p>\n<p>Notice Pipsqueak is wet and change his diaper and clothes\u00a0<em>again\u00a0<\/em>(and sometimes my clothes, too.)<\/p>\n<p>Ask girls if they need their waters (they always say no.)<\/p>\n<p>Put on Doodle&#8217;s shoes.<\/p>\n<p>Get my water and Doodle&#8217;s cup and fill them up.<\/p>\n<p>Put on my shoes, grab my purse and tell everyone to go to the car.<\/p>\n<p>Set the house alarm and lock the door.<\/p>\n<p>Realize I forgot my phone and go back in the house while girls argue about who is going to get in the car first and Doodle wanders around the garage (note I&#8217;ve been holding Pipsqueak this\u00a0<em>entire<\/em> time.)<\/p>\n<p>Reset the alarm and relock the door.<\/p>\n<p>Get to the car to buckle up Pipsqueak and Sugarplum tells me she forgot her water. \u00a0I say I asked and she said no, too late.<\/p>\n<p>Listen to Sugarplum scream while I buckle up Doodle.<\/p>\n<p>Get into the driver&#8217;s seat and hear Sugarplum yell &#8220;I can&#8217;t buckle my seat!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Get back out, all the way around the car to buckle up Sugarplum.<\/p>\n<p>Back around the car to the driver&#8217;s seat. \u00a0&#8220;Is everyone ready now?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Out of the driveway we go, finally on our way.<\/p>\n<p>5 minutes down the road, I remember I used the last wipe in the diaper bag yesterday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s a phenomenon I&#8217;ve noticed over time: with each baby added to the family, I&#8217;m a little later getting places. \u00a0Now with 4, I think I&#8217;m destined to always be late getting places and it&#8217;s no wonder why!
