{"id":8710,"date":"2015-07-16T09:01:02","date_gmt":"2015-07-16T13:01:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/?p=8710"},"modified":"2015-07-16T09:01:02","modified_gmt":"2015-07-16T13:01:02","slug":"preparing-the-nest-baby-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/2015\/07\/16\/preparing-the-nest-baby-4\/","title":{"rendered":"Preparing the Nest: Baby #4"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Around this time in my pregnancy with Doodle, I confessed that <a title=\"Preparing the Nest\" href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/2013\/03\/23\/preparing-the-nest\/\">I&#8217;ve never gotten the &#8220;nesting&#8221; instinct and shared all the things I still needed to do<\/a> before his arrival including painting, shopping, organizing and pretty much everything else related to getting his room ready. \u00a0Well, I got it all done in plenty of time for his arrival.<\/p>\n<p>We have a habit of getting a new house every time we have a new baby and so I am stuck setting up a brand new nursery with every baby. \u00a0But for the first time in four babies, I won&#8217;t have the nursery ready before baby comes.<\/p>\n<p>Our new house is perfect for our future family with 5 bedrooms upstairs including the master and one for each child. \u00a0So it&#8217;s not that we don&#8217;t have the space for the baby.<\/p>\n<p>Well, actually that&#8217;s exactly what it is. \u00a0This is what we have designated as the baby&#8217;s room:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/baby-room.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8715\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/baby-room.jpg\" alt=\"baby room\" width=\"2288\" height=\"1520\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/baby-room.jpg 2288w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/baby-room-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/baby-room-600x399.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/baby-room-376x250.jpg 376w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/baby-room-1024x680.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/baby-room-1000x664.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/baby-room-390x259.jpg 390w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 2288px) 100vw, 2288px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Also currently known as &#8220;all the junk that has no home,&#8221; because when we moved we decided to abolish the playroom and are now stuck with a crap-ton of toys that have no place to live and while I tried really,\u00a0<em>really<\/em>, REALLY hard to keep things nicely organized through the move, it just didn&#8217;t end up happening and baby&#8217;s room got stuck with being the area of containment. \u00a0And even though I&#8217;ve spent hours in there trying to organize things, I have three tiny tornadoes that follow me around and make that nearly impossible!<\/p>\n<p>But it&#8217;s okay, for the first time I&#8217;m not obsessed with baby&#8217;s room being ready before baby arrives because this is baby #4 and I know that baby is going to be in our room for quite a while (Honeybun was not quite 3 months and Sugarplum and Doodle were both around 4 months) and so this is going to baby&#8217;s nook\u00a0starting out:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/baby-nook.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8714\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/baby-nook.jpg\" alt=\"baby nook\" width=\"2288\" height=\"1520\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/baby-nook.jpg 2288w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/baby-nook-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/baby-nook-600x399.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/baby-nook-376x250.jpg 376w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/baby-nook-1024x680.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/baby-nook-1000x664.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 2288px) 100vw, 2288px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Our new master bedroom is the biggest we&#8217;ve ever had with a glorious sitting area which will be the perfect early nursery for baby. \u00a0So no need to obsess over having his\/her room ready because s\/he won&#8217;t be ready for it either!<\/p>\n<p>But I do still have a list of things to do in preparation including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Getting the crib from my parents house and putting it back together<\/li>\n<li>Finding all the newborn clothes that I *hope* are still at my parents house<\/li>\n<li>Washing, organizing and putting away all the clothes, blankets, rags, etc., etc., etc.<\/li>\n<li>Getting car seat arranged in my car so everyone can ride safely (hubby&#8217;s car is ready for any 3 which is the best we can do in a sedan!)<\/li>\n<li>Washing breast pump and bottles (in anticipation of an <a title=\"Too much of a Good Thing\" href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/2013\/06\/10\/too-much-of-a-good-thing\/\">oversupply<\/a> again)<\/li>\n<li>Buying diapers and prepping diaper changing stations<\/li>\n<li>Getting things put away enough around the house to actually have a baby!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Around this time in my pregnancy with Doodle, I confessed that I&#8217;ve never gotten the &#8220;nesting&#8221;
