{"id":8299,"date":"2015-05-18T08:56:12","date_gmt":"2015-05-18T12:56:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/?p=8299"},"modified":"2016-01-25T10:00:40","modified_gmt":"2016-01-25T15:00:40","slug":"daily-music","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/2015\/05\/18\/daily-music\/","title":{"rendered":"Daily Music"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I think most parents have heard at some point that exposure to music is important for a child&#8217;s developing brain. \u00a0And whether you were the type of mommy that played Mozart for your fetus or you just enjoy a good tune, experiencing music is good for your baby and child&#8217;s brain <i>and<\/i> physical development.<\/p>\n<p>Recent research has found that music affects the sensory, motor and affective parts of the brain, integrating the three systems. \u00a0And while most have heard about the &#8220;Mozart Effect&#8221; and the belief that exposure to classical music makes kids smarter, there has\u00a0also been <a href=\"http:\/\/tdlc.ucsd.edu\/research\/highlights\/rh-music-and-brain-2011.html\">recent research<\/a> showing music understanding helps language development.<\/p>\n<p>But this doesn&#8217;t mean you need to bathe your infant in classical music or run your toddler to nearest music class or sign your preschooler up for music lessons ASAP.
