{"id":8117,"date":"2015-04-29T10:08:11","date_gmt":"2015-04-29T14:08:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/?p=8117"},"modified":"2016-01-25T10:19:51","modified_gmt":"2016-01-25T15:19:51","slug":"easy-art-at-home-with-young-children","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/2015\/04\/29\/easy-art-at-home-with-young-children\/","title":{"rendered":"Easy Art at Home with Young Children"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ll admit I don&#8217;t do arts and crafts at home with my kids as much as I really should. \u00a0But I do keep a good stash of supplies around and I recommend every parent (especially those that stay home) do the same.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what I recommend having in your stash for art at home with\u00a0young children:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Art-Supplies.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8118\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Art-Supplies.jpg\" alt=\"SONY DSC\" width=\"1836\" height=\"602\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Art-Supplies.jpg 1836w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Art-Supplies-300x98.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Art-Supplies-600x197.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Art-Supplies-390x128.jpg 390w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Art-Supplies-1024x335.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Art-Supplies-1000x327.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1836px) 100vw, 1836px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Construction paper<\/li>\n<li>Roll of white paper<\/li>\n<li>Paper plates<\/li>\n<li>Paintbrushes of varying sizes<\/li>\n<li>Tempura paint (I keep red, blue, yellow and white and can then\u00a0mix any color I need)<\/li>\n<li>Watercolor paints<\/li>\n<li>Markers<\/li>\n<li>Crayons<\/li>\n<li>Colored Pencils<\/li>\n<li>Chalk<\/li>\n<li>Glue (both liquid and sticks)<\/li>\n<li>Yarn<\/li>\n<li>Pipe cleaners<\/li>\n<li>Collage supplies (sequins, small bits of tissue paper, pom poms, buttons, feather, fake flowers, other miscellaneous small items)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It may seem like a lot, but most of these items you can pick up at the dollar store for (you guessed it!) $1. \u00a0Target&#8217;s dollar spot also often has crafting supplies or if you watch back to school sales, you can often get things for much less than that. \u00a0I also buy in &#8220;bulk&#8221; at my local craft store. \u00a0Things like paint brushes, pipe cleaners and collage supplies you can often get in bigger packs for cheaper than smaller ones ( for example, 12 paintbrushes for $3 versus 2 for $1).<\/p>\n<p>And what exactly can you do with all these supplies?
