{"id":797,"date":"2013-05-10T08:40:00","date_gmt":"2013-05-10T12:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/?p=797"},"modified":"2020-09-03T14:47:02","modified_gmt":"2020-09-03T18:47:02","slug":"welcoming-baby","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/2013\/05\/10\/welcoming-baby\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcoming Baby"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday was a big day for our family, we finally welcomed our third little dumpling!\u00a0 While my mommy instincts were terribly off on the timing (what I was sure was going to be an early baby came 1 day before the official due date!), I was not wrong about the fact that we got a BIG BOY!\u00a0 \u201cDoodle\u201d has taken his little place in our family and is fitting in just perfectly.\u00a0 The girls are enthralled by him and so happy he is finally here!<\/p>\n<p>After a fairly uneventful birth (more on that another time), we have spent the past 24 hours getting to know him and here is what we\u2019ve discovered thus far:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tipping the scale at 8 lbs, 14 ounces and 22 inches long, Doodle is more than a pound bigger than Sugarplum and more than 2 inches taller!<\/li>\n<li>Doodle looks just like Honeybun did as a baby.<\/li>\n<li>He takes after Sugarplum with his sleeping grunting and squeaking.<\/li>\n<li>In the middle of the night with low light and his scrunched up little face and squinty eyes, he looks like Mr. Magoo!<\/li>\n<li>He\u2019s been having a little bit of a spitting up problem as my transition milk has already started coming in.<\/li>\n<li>When he\u2019s about to spit up he makes the same gagging\/dry heaving noise our cat Monk makes.<\/li>\n<li>Sometimes after he\u2019s made a good spit up he\u2019ll make a little victory squeal that sounds like \u201cyay!\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Doodle is a fantastic sleeper so far.\u00a0 He slept most of the night and I was able to swaddle him and lay him down where he quietly drifted off to sleep.<\/li>\n<li>Mommy needs to go shopping for little boy clothes, ASAP!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday was a big day for our family, we finally welcomed our third little dumpling!\u00a0 While my mommy instincts were terribly off on the timing (what I was sure was going to be an early baby came 1 day before the official due date!), I was not wrong about the fact that we got a [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[8,631,18],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-797","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-baby-business","category-birthday-posts","category-time-to-celebrate"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/797","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=797"}],"version-history":[{"count":6,"href":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/797\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":11116,"href":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/797\/revisions\/11116"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=797"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=797"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=797"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
