marbles) is really great for helping kids learn one-to-one correspondence and can promote counting by counting out every marble they move.<\/p>\n<h3>Chutes and Ladders<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/chutes-and-ladders.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7732\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/chutes-and-ladders.jpg\" alt=\"chutes and ladders\" width=\"450\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/chutes-and-ladders.jpg 450w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/chutes-and-ladders-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/chutes-and-ladders-100x100.jpg 100w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/chutes-and-ladders-250x250.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Games that involve spinning a numbered spinner like Chutes and Ladders help children with counting and number recognition.<\/p>\n<h3>Go Fish<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/shape-cards.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7734\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/shape-cards.jpg\" alt=\"shape cards\" width=\"300\" height=\"238\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are lots of versions of Go Fish. \u00a0You can use standard playing cards or you can buy specialty Go Fish decks. \u00a0The basic game helps kids with number recognition and matching but I also like to play with shape cards to help my little ones with shape recognition as well.<\/p>\n<h3>Trouble<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/trouble.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7731\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/trouble.jpg\" alt=\"trouble\" width=\"185\" height=\"185\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/trouble.jpg 185w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/trouble-100x100.jpg 100w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/trouble-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 185px) 100vw, 185px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Dice games like Trouble that use traditional (not specialty or character) dice take the same concept from spinner games of counting and add the element of starting to recognize how many\u00a0without counting.
