{"id":7579,"date":"2015-03-14T09:42:37","date_gmt":"2015-03-14T13:42:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/?p=7579"},"modified":"2015-03-14T09:42:37","modified_gmt":"2015-03-14T13:42:37","slug":"fixing-a-haircut-hack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/2015\/03\/14\/fixing-a-haircut-hack\/","title":{"rendered":"Fixing a Haircut Hack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since Sugarplum took her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/2015\/03\/13\/speechless-and-heartbroken\/\">hair cutting needs into her own hands<\/a> yesterday and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/2014\/08\/28\/helping-hair\/\">my friend that usually cuts our hair<\/a> is unavailable this weekend and I don&#8217;t trust anyone else and we are having a party this afternoon, I had to take fixing her haircut into my own hands.<\/p>\n<p>I have to admit I didn&#8217;t sleep most of the night, worried about it. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/2015\/01\/05\/doodle-first-haircut\/\">Doodle&#8217;s first haircut <\/a>I did was in no way a raging success so I was apprehensive of my abilities to say the least.<\/p>\n<p>A few tips:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I had her shower and wash her hair and did it basically soaking wet, this helped it &#8220;stick&#8221; together easier and made it much easier to cut.<\/li>\n<li>I used a backwards pocket bib as a makeshift gown which also helped to catch the cut pieces and keep them off the floor<\/li>\n<li>Make sure your scissors are SHARP! \u00a0Mine were not (this time or with Doodle&#8217;s) and it definitely made things more difficult than it needed to be<\/li>\n<li>Use a fine tooth comb to comb the hair down as straight and smooth as possible<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC04600.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-7580\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC04600-1024x680.jpg\" alt=\"SONY DSC\" width=\"680\" height=\"451\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC04600-1024x680.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC04600-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC04600-600x399.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC04600-376x250.jpg 376w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC04600-1000x664.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC04600-390x259.jpg 390w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But, in the end, things turned out okay. \u00a0It&#8217;s not perfect by any means and I will probably clean it up tomorrow (it&#8217;s longer on one side than the other) but for now, it will do.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC04604-e1426340366858.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-7581\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC04604-e1426340366858-680x1024.jpg\" alt=\"SONY DSC\" width=\"501\" height=\"754\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC04604-e1426340366858-680x1024.jpg 680w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC04604-e1426340366858-300x452.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC04604-e1426340366858-600x903.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC04604-e1426340366858-166x250.jpg 166w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC04604-e1426340366858-199x300.jpg 199w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC04604-e1426340366858-1000x1505.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC04604-e1426340366858.jpg 1520w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 501px) 100vw, 501px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And yes, she is super cute, even with short hair. \u00a0But that doesn&#8217;t mean I won&#8217;t deeply miss those baby curls (the only baby curls my kids have ever had!)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since Sugarplum took her hair cutting needs into her own hands yesterday and my friend that usually cuts our hair is unavailable this weekend and I don&#8217;t trust anyone else and we are having a party this afternoon, I had to take fixing her haircut into my own hands.
