Today is a pretty cool day in our house: Today is our 100th day of homeschooling! \u00a0When we took this big step over 5 months ago, I know we’d make it. \u00a0And I was pretty sure we’d like it. \u00a0But what I didn’t expect was how much we would LOVE it! \u00a0I didn’t expect it to make such a drastic difference in our day to day, family life but it really has.<\/p>\n

When I decided to try to think of 100 things we love about homeschooling, I wasn’t sure I’d be able to do it. \u00a0But with a little help from the girls, here it is, 100 Great things about homeschool!<\/p>\n

  2. Being able to travel when we want<\/li>\n
  3. Being able to travel when it’s cheap<\/li>\n
  4. Sleeping in<\/li>\n
  5. Homeschool groups<\/li>\n
  6. Not having to do school runs in the rain<\/li>\n
  7. Not having to sit in the car line<\/li>\n
  8. Watching my children learn<\/li>\n
  9. Deciding what my children learn<\/li>\n
  10. Deciding when my children learn<\/li>\n
  11. Knowing who they play with<\/li>\n
  12. Seeing them learn new things<\/li>\n
  13. Seeing them struggle and then succeed<\/li>\n
  14. Taking days off when we want<\/li>\n
  15. Skipping problems when we want<\/li>\n
  16. Skipping assignments when we want<\/li>\n
  17. No uniforms<\/li>\n
  18. School in Pajamas<\/li>\n
  19. Knowing my kids are challenged<\/li>\n
  20. \"Homeschool\"<\/a>Not rushing around<\/li>\n
  21. Not having to disrupt naptime for school pick up<\/li>\n
  22. Unlimited family time<\/li>\n
  23. Letting my kids play<\/li>\n
  24. Going fun places like the zoo on school days<\/li>\n
  25. Sharing the real world on a daily basis<\/li>\n
  26. Spending more time with Daddy<\/li>\n
  27. Making new friends<\/li>\n
  28. Spending more time with Grandma and Grandpa<\/li>\n
  29. Not having to pack lunches<\/li>\n
  30. Not having to remember to send things back to school<\/li>\n
  31. Not arguing about having to walk to school<\/li>\n
  32. Not having to rush in the morning<\/li>\n
  33. Not having to rush home for school pick up in the afternoon<\/li>\n
  34. Not having to plan our lives around the school schedule<\/li>\n
  35. Getting to swim everyday if we want<\/li>\n
  36. Getting school done in 1\/3 the time<\/li>\n
  37. Letting the kids study topics they are interested in<\/li>\n
  38. Knowing we aren\u2019t wasting time<\/li>\n
  39. Being able to go out to breakfast<\/li>\n

  41. Being more patient<\/li>\n
  42. Being less stressed<\/li>\n
  43. Being less tired<\/li>\n
  44. The kids getting along better<\/li>\n
  45. The kids getting to play together<\/li>\n
  46. Learning about the world together<\/li>\n
  47. Doing science experiences<\/li>\n
  48. Doing art experiences<\/li>\n
  49. Having a flexible routine<\/li>\n
  50. Eating breakfast together<\/li>\n
  51. Eating lunch together<\/li>\n
  52. Eating when we are hungry<\/li>\n
  53. Sleeping when we are tired<\/li>\n
  54. Taking a break if we need to<\/li>\n
  55. Taking a break if we want to<\/li>\n

  62. Hugging and kissing whenever we want<\/li>\n
  63. Getting to play outside before it\u2019s dark out<\/li>\n
  64. Going to the park whenever we want<\/li>\n
  65. Getting to see friends and family from out of town<\/li>\n
  66. Watching the kids help each other learn<\/li>\n
  67. No sandy shoes!<\/li>\n
  68. Being able to limit screen time\/censor what they see<\/li>\n
  69. Not worrying about the kids getting sick<\/li>\n
  70. Not having to decide if they\u2019re \u201ctoo sick\u201d for school<\/li>\n
  71. No calls from the school nurse 20 minutes before school is out<\/li>\n
  72. No missing important information<\/li>\n
  73. No wondering if the messages from your 5 year old are true or not<\/li>\n
  74. Not having to buy special lunchbox food<\/li>\n
  75. Not having to buy $30 tennis shoes for gym<\/li>\n
  76. Not having clothes get ruined in art class<\/li>\n
  77. Getting to talk to daddy during the day<\/li>\n
  78. Getting to go to out of town events<\/li>\n
  79. Having time to be silly together<\/li>\n

  81. Not worrying about what they\u2019re learning from other kids<\/li>\n
  82. Knowing they\u2019re learning to be respectful<\/li>\n
  83. Teaching them responsibility<\/li>\n
  84. Letting the kids guide their own learning<\/li>\n
  85. Letting the kids be in charge of getting their work done<\/li>\n
  86. Understanding the work they have to do<\/li>\n
  87. Being able to set the rules<\/li>\n
  88. Being able to bend the rules<\/li>\n
  89. Being able to change the rules<\/li>\n
  90. Less arguing<\/li>\n
  91. Less complaining<\/li>\n
  92. Getting to spend as much time as we want or need on a task<\/li>\n
  93. No deadlines or schedules<\/li>\n
  94. No running forgotten items to the school<\/li>\n
  95. No awkward parent teacher conferences<\/li>\n
  96. Not hearing \u201cshe doesn\u2019t want to be my friend!\u201d or \u201cShe said I can\u2019t come to her <make believe> birthday party!\u201d<\/li>\n
  97. Not having to buy $100 worth of school supplies<\/li>\n
  98. Believing in the learning my children are doing<\/li>\n
  99. Being 100% comfortable with where my children are spending their days<\/li>\n
