A this year comes to a close and I take the time to refelct on the past 12 months, I feel somewhat surprised to be able to smile. This year has definitely not been the best, nor the easiest. There was very little good news to report.<\/p>\n

I struggled much of the year with picking a path<\/a> for my future and making hard decisions about what is really most important to me in my life. But I have not for a second regretted the choices I’ve made or the path I picked<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This year ends with two less Grandparents <\/a>than it started with (we are down a grand total of three within a span less than a year with the loss of hubby’s grandfather <\/a>last year). But we have spent the past month surrounded by our families and sucking in the joy and love.<\/p>\n

I have dealt with many parenting firsts including surviving our first year of proper school<\/a> (prompting us to take on homeschooling<\/a>) as well as dealing with never ending food and skin sensitivities<\/a> and a toddler boy whose energy is exhausting. But I have never been more in love with my children. I have found new patience, understanding and enthusiasm for this amazing role I’ve been given.<\/p>\n

We have spent the year frustrated as we search for a new home (near or far) and have been constantly disappointed in the possibilities presented to us or taken away from us. It has been a year of house hunting<\/a> and talk of long distance moves<\/a> but we are still here, in our house with no yard and our small circle of friends.<\/p>\n
