{"id":6767,"date":"2014-12-21T19:20:06","date_gmt":"2014-12-22T00:20:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/?p=6767"},"modified":"2016-01-18T15:46:21","modified_gmt":"2016-01-18T20:46:21","slug":"support-shelter-pets-giveaway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/2014\/12\/21\/support-shelter-pets-giveaway\/","title":{"rendered":"Support Shelter Pets and Giveaway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-665\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/frank-belly.jpg\" alt=\"frank belly\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/frank-belly.jpg 480w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/frank-belly-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/frank-belly-333x250.jpg 333w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>I am the proud mommy of a shelter pet. \u00a0Our youngest kitty, Franklin, was adopted from a rescue group when we were living in Oklahoma. \u00a0He was the scrawny, scared little kitty and even the manager tried to talk us out of it. \u00a0&#8220;He&#8217;s not a good cat. \u00a0He just hides all day. \u00a0He&#8217;ll probably just hide under the couch all the time and never come out to see you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/frank.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-659 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/frank.jpg\" alt=\"EPSON MFP image\" width=\"150\" height=\"212\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/frank.jpg 360w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/frank-300x423.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/frank-177x250.jpg 177w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/frank-213x300.jpg 213w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>But something told me we needed him, maybe because I knew he needed us. \u00a0I stood there for probably 15 minutes holding him, petting him, waiting for him to let us know he wanted to come home with us. \u00a0Finally he did. \u00a0He bumped his head under my chin and started purring. \u00a0That sealed the deal.<\/p>\n<p>And the lady was wrong, completely. \u00a0He is the most loving cat. \u00a0He is constantly trying to sit on our laps and lives for nice touches. \u00a0He is still a scardy cat and panics when the doorbell rings and hides when we have company over but when it&#8217;s just us, he is happy.<\/p>\n<p>He has gotten along with our other cat, Monk, right from the start. \u00a0She is a bit bossy and domineering but he doesn&#8217;t mind. \u00a0They play and sometimes even snuggle together and only fight when Monk is &#8220;not in the mood&#8221; for his antics.<\/p>\n<p>He used to be scared of the kids and would run and hide until they napped but now he&#8217;s even getting used to them. \u00a0If they&#8217;re quite and sitting still, he will crawl up next to them and squeeze some nice touches out of them too.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/DSC00907-e1418822435301.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-6770 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/DSC00907-e1418822435301-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"SONY DSC\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/wpid-IMAG0446.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-6768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/wpid-IMAG0446-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"wpid-IMAG0446.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>He&#8217;s not the &#8220;best&#8221; cat. \u00a0He poops on the floor when he&#8217;s scared and his furriness leaves a Frank trail everywhere. \u00a0And he&#8217;s never been the brightest cat but I&#8217;ve never known a cat that is more loving. \u00a0I can&#8217;t imagine living the past 8 without him or what his life would have been without us.<br \/>\n<em>I am participating in this giveaway on behalf of Bloggin&#8217; Mamas and in support of Shelter Pets.
