I&#8217;ve got the perfect kids pumpkin decorating project!<\/p>\n<p>This weekend we went to a local farm\/pumpkin patch. \u00a0Among the chaos and crowds, we found some really nice medium-ish pumpkins for the kids to decorate. \u00a0I spent all last week\u00a0thinking about the project and collecting supplies for the kids to decorate their own pumpkins.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-6291 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02936.jpg\" alt=\"SONY DSC\" width=\"2288\" height=\"1520\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02936.jpg 2288w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02936-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02936-600x399.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02936-376x250.jpg 376w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02936-1024x680.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02936-1000x664.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 2288px) 100vw, 2288px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Pumpkins are awesome and so are jack-o-lanterns. \u00a0I love letting my kids play with the pumpkin guts before we extract the seeds from the pulp and roast them. \u00a0But pumpkin carving is really an adult job and kids usually end up as planners (deciding what the face should look like) and spectators. \u00a0This year I wanted my kids to be involved with the decorating, making their own pumpkin creations that they could proudly display.<\/p>\n<p>So I gathered the following items:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Halloween foam stickers<\/li>\n<li>Halloween velvet stickers (which they colored)<\/li>\n<li>Sequins of various shapes and sizes<\/li>\n<li>Small fake flowers removed from the stems<\/li>\n<li>Fabric leaves<\/li>\n<li>Sequin pins (found at any craft or fabric store)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02948.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6292 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02948-1024x680.jpg\" alt=\"SONY DSC\" width=\"680\" height=\"452\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02948-1024x680.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02948-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02948-600x399.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02948-376x250.jpg 376w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02948-1000x664.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then we cleaned off our pumpkins from the patch and I let the kids have at it, decorating as they wished.<\/p>\n<p>The girls spent close to an hour decorating their pumpkins. \u00a0Painstakingly inserting the little pins to attach the sequins and peeling the stickers and placing them just right.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15583\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02957-1000x664-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1324\" height=\"874\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02957-1000x664-1.jpg 1324w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02957-1000x664-1-379x250.jpg 379w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02957-1000x664-1-300x198.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02957-1000x664-1-1024x676.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02957-1000x664-1-390x257.jpg 390w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSC02957-1000x664-1-600x396.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1324px) 100vw, 1324px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Even Doodle stickered his own pumpkin. \u00a0He wasn&#8217;t too sure about the super sticky foam stickers at first (they kept getting stuck on his hands) but he loved the &#8220;smooshing&#8221;
