You ever had one of those days where you\u2019re Just. Done!?\u00a0 Where you just want to throw in the towel and be done with it? Walk away? Leave it for another day when you can come at it with a fresh attitude and feel better about the situation?\u00a0 That\u2019s me today.\u00a0 Except I\u2019m a mommy and walking away and leaving it for another day could get my kids taken away or send me to jail because THEY are what I am done with today.<\/p>\n

It started over spilt water.\u00a0 You can\u2019t cry over spilled milk, right?\u00a0 Well, I nearly cried over spilt water after scolding Sugarplum too harshly when she left a cup of water unattended in Doodle\u2019s reach and he helped himself to a little impromptu water play all over the floor.<\/p>\n

Then I took the little ones for a grocery run.\u00a0 After fighting over my coupons with Doodle and arguing over whether or not it is safe for Sugarplum to ride on the side of the shopping trolley (I say it is not), we finally got going on our shopping.\u00a0 And then something happened and I almost threw in the towel and walked out: I had forgotten my reusable shopping bags.<\/p>\n

Totally not a big deal, right?\u00a0 Well, maybe not but to me it really is. \u00a0I hate having tons of plastic bags laying around because I don\u2019t really use them and on the rare occasion I need a plastic bag, I usually have some from clothing and home stores, I don\u2019t need grocery ones!\u00a0 I try to do my part for the environment and I feel so wasteful whenever I have to use plastic bags.\u00a0 Today, what easily fit in TWO of my (extra-large) reusable bags came home in ELEVEN plastic bags.\u00a0 Ugh, what a waste! (I got in the habit of reusable bags while in Ireland where there really isn\u2019t a choice.\u00a0 Well, I guess technically there is: you want a plastic bag?\u00a0 No problem, that will be 22c please!)<\/p>\n

So home to lunch we came.\u00a0 Potstickers in the pot and I sit to feed Doodle on the couch and I hear scuffling.\u00a0 More spilt water.\u00a0 After Sugarplum climbed on the counter to get a cup out of the upper cupboard when her covered straw cup was right on the table!\u00a0 Patience\u2026gone!<\/p>\n

Honeybun was sick all weekend and now Doodle\u2019s got a glorious runny nose which in addition to the teething has created a baby who won\u2019t nap more than an hour and spends most of the rest of his time nursing or screaming. \u00a0Not to mention he was up crying every few hours through the night (luckily I never had to go to him, hubby went in once but I was up at 5:00 with him). \u00a0Done with this day!<\/p>\n

Off to school to get Honeybun, walking down our stripped, dusty road that they are just now getting around to resurfacing long after removing the sign that sat on our street for a month saying they would be starting January 8.<\/p>\n

I inform Honeybun it\u2019s a straight to homework day (because I needed a rest and was hopeful early to homework would result in early to nap\u2026ha!)\u00a0 \u201cI\u2019m not doing homework today, I hate homework!\u201d\u00a0 Me too.<\/p>\n

Dinner?\u00a0 Yeah, then there\u2019s that.\u00a0 What to make?\u00a0 I have no idea.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 Because I\u2019m DONE!\u00a0 Done with this day except\u2026I still have dinner to arrange, 2 ballet classes to teach and all the shutting down work at home to do.\u00a0 7 more hours\u2026.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
