I\u2019m not a huge sports fan, I rarely watch a full game, but I am a huge Broncos fan.\u00a0 Needless to say, I\u2019m a little disappointed in the outcome of last night\u2019s game.\u00a0 Ok, let\u2019s be honest\u2026I\u2019m a lot disappointed.<\/p>\n

I grew up in Denver and have always been a Broncos fan.\u00a0 I\u2019ve never wavered in my support for the team, even during the years when they weren\u2019t so good.\u00a0 I still have my Superbowl XXII shirt from 1988 (which Sugarplum wore yesterday).\u00a0 I remember dancing around a cheering \u201cwe\u2019re going to the Superbowl!\u201d when I heard Mike Shannahan was hired as our head coach.\u00a0 And I remember staring at a clothespin Broncos player ornament my parents have a few years later when, indeed, we were going to the Superbowl and thinking \u201cI was right!\u201d<\/p>\n

I was a fan when we lost Superbowl XXII in 1988 (and in 1987 and in 1990) and I was a fan when we won in 1998 and 1999 (after a 14 game winning streak).\u00a0 And even today, after yesterday\u2019s pretty awful loss, I\u2019m still a fan.\u00a0 And I will be tomorrow even after seeing all the jokes and Bronco bashing splashed across Facebook and Twitter.\u00a0 My kids (who want to) will wear their Broncos gear with pride today because when you believe in something, when you love something, when something is important to you, it doesn\u2019t matter what other people think.\u00a0 And that is what I want my children to know, belive, and live.<\/p>\n

Did we lose yesterday?\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 Did we play poorly?\u00a0 Heck yeah!\u00a0 Did the Seahawks beat us?\u00a0 No, I don\u2019t think so\u2026we beat ourselves.\u00a0 Am I proud of my team?\u00a0 I\u2019m not sure.\u00a0 Am I still a fan?\u00a0 Always.<\/p>\n
