My parents returned to Florida today after a few weeks back in Colorado celebrating the holidays with my Gran\u2019ma and after spending the evening with the kids while I was at work, when they finally headed to their place, they drove off with a little piece of my heart.\u00a0 No, not with one of my children but with my car!<\/p>\n

\u00a0Previously they were driving my grandmother\u2019s very old car and the plan was always for them to take my old car whenever we got a new one.\u00a0 So, when we got \u00a0“My New Ride”<\/a>\u00a0we traded in my grandmother\u2019s car and my former car is now my parents current car.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"SONYWhile I am more than happy with my new car, I LOVE my old car.\u00a0 It\u2019s not just a car, it\u2019s a part of my life!\u00a0 It is the only car I\u2019ve ever had.\u00a0 I got it when I was 17 and it had 6 miles on the odometer when I drove it off the car lot.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"clI\u2019ve had that car longer than I\u2019ve had hubb<\/span>y.\u00a0 It is older than all my children combined.\u00a0 It took me to college and brought me home for the summer.\u00a0 It moved me across the country five times and waited patiently for my return from living abroad.\u00a0 It took us home on our first day as a married couple.\u00a0 It brought Sugarplum home from the hospital and has taken us on numerous family adventures.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I know it’s weird to be so emotional about a car, but few things have been in my life for so long. \u00a0And nothing has been through so much of my journey with me! \u00a0I realize it’s only going to my parents house across town and I can visit any time, but it’s just strange to not have it anymore.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
