{"id":2520,"date":"2013-12-26T11:42:20","date_gmt":"2013-12-26T16:42:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/?p=2520"},"modified":"2013-12-26T11:43:15","modified_gmt":"2013-12-26T16:43:15","slug":"discount-decorations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/2013\/12\/26\/discount-decorations\/","title":{"rendered":"Discount Decorations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Even after completing Christmas this year, we still don\u2019t have a lot of clear cut traditions which we hope to carry forward for our family.\u00a0 But one tradition we have adopted after many holidays is post-holiday clearance shopping.<\/p>\n<p>I started collecting clearanced holiday decorations after Easter when I just happened to be at a store after the holiday that had tons of decorations and I bought a few really cute things that I had my eye on before the holiday.\u00a0 Then hubby and I went to Target the morning \u00a0after Halloween before he went to work and bought a bunch of clearanced Halloween decorations.<\/p>\n<p>So, no surprise this morning we ventured out to do the same for Christmas.\u00a0 Many of our older Christmas lights did not work this year so I was on the hunt for new ones for next year and I got some really good deals.\u00a0 I\u2019ve found shopping for decorations AFTER the holiday is great for many reasons:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.7;\">You save lots of money by buying things when they\u2019re 50% or more off<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.7;\">By waiting until after you\u2019ve decorated you know exactly what you need and\/or want<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.7;\">For me, having less to choose from helps me make decisions especially on bigger, more expensive things where I really like lots of things but don\u2019t want to spend big money.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2521 alignright\" alt=\"SONY DSC\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/DSC00902-300x199.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/DSC00902-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/DSC00902-600x399.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/DSC00902-376x250.jpg 376w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/DSC00902-1024x680.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/DSC00902-390x259.jpg 390w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>By shopping after Christmas, I got all of this for just a little bit more than the reindeer would have been before Christmas and I was able to replace all my lights that were broken this year without breaking the bank!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Even after completing Christmas this year, we still don\u2019t have a lot of clear cut traditions which we hope to carry forward for our family.\u00a0 But one tradition we have adopted after many holidays is post-holiday clearance shopping.
