Lunch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are well on our way into the second week of Kindergarten and so far we\u2019ve survived packing school lunches despite my initial anxiety about it.\u00a0 I\u2019ve tried to pack her a well-balanced and healthy as possible lunch each day though I\u2019ve had to get creative in order to keep the stress and costs down and avoid setting a peanut butter and jelly sandwich precedence.\u00a0 She\u2019s had leftovers a few times and I\u2019ve also found it easiest when preparing something to make enough for a few days so I don\u2019t have to do so much each morning.<\/p>\n<p>For protein she\u2019s had:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.7;\">Tuna salad<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.7;\">Hard-boiled egg<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.7;\">Egg salad<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.7;\">Leftover Gyro sandwich<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.7;\">Fish Chowder<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.7;\">Meatballs<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.7;\">Edamame<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For Veggies she\u2019s had:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.7;\">Rice with mixed veggies<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.7;\">Green Peppers<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.7;\">Cucumbers<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.7;\">Broccoli<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.7;\">Carrots<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For Fruit she\u2019s had:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.7;\">Natural Fruit snacks\/sticks<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.7;\">Apple<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.7;\">Plum<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.7;\">Banana<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Dairy:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.7;\">Frozen Gogurt (which is melted but still cold by lunch time)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.7;\">Cheese Stick<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I don\u2019t obsess over grains\/carbs since we get plenty of these during breakfast and dinner and there is usually a little bit in her other stuff.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/DSC09682.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/DSC09682-1024x680.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.beyondmommying.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/DSC09682-390x259.jpg 390w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>I also send everything in reusable containers other than individually pre-packed items like the yogurt, cheese sticks and fruit snacks.\u00a0 It means a lot of container washing (usually 2 or 3 each day) but it saves money and helps keep unnecessary trash out of the landfill.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are well on
