<\/a> We started our boating day by taking the girls tubing alongside hubby and my aunt, my\u00a0cousin\u00a0driving the small speed boat, while Doodle and I watched them bouncing around the lake. \u00a0They loved being on the tube and even swam back to the boat in the cold water. \u00a0We then took the bigger boat out to a cove and had lunch and the girls enjoyed some more swimming. \u00a0I was not brave enough to get in above my knees, too cold for this mommy! \u00a0I wanted to take them to shore for some mud-pie making but unfortunately we were not anchored close enough for the girls to make the swim. \u00a0Both girls also got to drive the boats and Sugarplum made some donuts in the middle of the lake which had all the adults laughing so hard we couldn’t help her straighten out.<\/p>\nWe all thoroughly enjoyed the day and it brought back many memories for me. \u00a0As a child we used to spend many summer weekends hanging out on my aunt and uncle’s boat. \u00a0We would swim and make mud pies all day and camp on shore over night. \u00a0Though I’m not a huge outdoorsy girl and never really cared for the camping part, I loved the boating, swimming and mud-pie making. \u00a0It didn’t occur to me until we were driving up that I hadn’t been to the lake in probably about 15 years, nearly half my life.<\/p>\n
It was so fun to share a piece of my childhood with my girls and see them repeating and experiencing some of the same things I did.<\/p>\n
