I’ve tried to stay optimistic since November: wait and see was my approach<\/a>. Don’t get all worked up until something happens.<\/p>\n

When the cabinet nominees started coming in, I perked up my ears. It didn’t seem right, something seemed off.<\/p>\n

When the executive orders started being signed and decisions being made with reckless abandon, without preparation or thought for the long-term, I began to worry.<\/p>\n

And when those decisions started affecting my circle, it got real. When I heard the news of a friend being stopped at the airport and held, returning from a business trip in Europe, I started to feel hopeless. An EU citizen with a green card, American wife and two daughters who are US citizens was stopped trying to go home to them.<\/p>\n

What is happening to our country? As I’ve heard about grandmothers dying, babies being separated for their mothers for hours and countless other travesties, I’ve looked at my world with fresh eyes.<\/p>\n

It’s made me doubt what I’m doing. It’s made me question my place in this world. It’s made me wonder if I even need to have my little piece of the internet, if it even matters.<\/p>\n

Because…<\/p>\n

in the grand scheme of things, my problems are nothing because I am lucky I have everything I’ve ever dreamed of.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
