Last summer the girls and I undertook our European Learning Adventure<\/a> and while we started out strong with our week on France<\/a> and even visited Ireland<\/a>, as we got closer to baby time, we did less and less with each country. I was going to pick up where we left off this year but decided instead, with the Summer Olympics coming up in Brazil, that we’d do a South America unit study this summer instead.<\/p>\n

My girls, unfortunately, know very little about South America which is mostly my fault because I don’t know as much about South America as I do North America and Europe. \u00a0And in addition to the Olympics this year, daddy is traveling much more down south these days so it’s a great time for our family to embark on a South America unit study.<\/p>\n

And this year, I planned ahead! I’ve been working on the materials for months and feel prepared to keep up with one country a week for the rest of the summer. Luckily South America doesn’t have as many countries as Europe so we’ll easily get through all 12 plus the one French region of French Guiana before most kids head back to school in September.\"A<\/p>\n

We’ll be undertaking one country a week, exploring their history, culture, famous people, geography and more through the use of library books, online resources and the printables I’ve made up for the girls.<\/p>\n
