Five years ago today, Honeybun\u00a0exited my body and forever changed my world when she made me a mommy.\u00a0 I cannot believe how fast time has gone and how big she has gotten.\u00a0 Having Doodle now just reminds me of how much she really has grown and changed.<\/p>\n

\"DSC00107\"<\/a>Every mommy has a special place in her heart for her first child.\u00a0 I remember the first moments with Honeybun\u00a0.\u00a0 She didn\u2019t cry after she was born.\u00a0 She laid in my arms, perfectly pink, breathing fine and just took it all in.\u00a0 She was the calmest baby from that very first moment.\u00a0 And then she pooped on my arm.\u00a0 \u201cSo nice to meet you too, little one.\u201d<\/p>\n

I remember how alert she was from that very first moment and how we used to talk about how she just \u201cgets\u201d the world.\u00a0 When she was about 6 weeks old, we drove across Florida to introduce her to hubby\u2019s Grammy.\u00a0 On that long, nighttime car ride I told hubby I was already worried about when she went to school. \u00a0It was the first time I brought up home school because I could already tell she was an incredibly bright child and I was already worried about her being bored and getting forgotten in a traditional classroom.<\/p>\n

She was always very advanced in her motor skills.\u00a0 She sat up unassisted at 4 \u00bd months, crawled at 7 and walked at 9 \u00bd months.\u00a0 But she was not a talker.\u00a0 She was nearly 14 months before she said her first word, \u201cMom-mom\u201d and that was only after I refused to take her out of her crib one day until she said it.<\/p>\n

She has a great sense of humor and has always thought she was so funny, laughing at her own jokes and trying really hard to make those around her smile.\u00a0 Even now she loves making others happy and doesn\u2019t handle it well when people are upset at her.\u00a0\u00a0 She has become a very compassionate child.<\/p>\n

Honeybun\u00a0and I have not always gotten along.\u00a0 She is very much like me and I often don\u2019t have patience for her especially when I feel she is being overly ridiculous about things.\u00a0 I often have to remind myself that she is only a child and that even though she is very mature and bright, it is normal for her to act her age sometimes.<\/p>\n

\"h<\/a>But no matter what kind of day we are having, one thing is always constant:\u00a0 I love her with my entire being.\u00a0 I would do anything for her and it breaks my heart any time I see her hurting.\u00a0 She, after all, is my first baby and that is how I will always view her.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
