A Day in the Life: On My Own with 4

My parents went home on Wednesday and hubby isn’t starting his paternity leave until next week which has left me with three days to manage all the kids completely on my own!  We’ve been doing a lot of mornings on our own between when hubby leaves for work and mid-day when my parents would come over but the past two days we were alone the entire day until dinner time.

This is what our first day alone looked like (with zero photographic evidence, I really need to be better about that…):

1:30 rubbing Sugarplum’s leg that was hurting so bad she couldn’t sleep (growing pains?)

1:45 listening to Pipsqueak grunt, cough and snout

8:30 nursing Pipsqueak and collecting drips (a full ounce!)

8:45 making coffee

9:00 changing Pipsqueak’s diaper

9:15 breaking up a fight between Sugarplum and Doodle (she stole his spine…)

9:30 reading to Doodle and Sugarplum, rocking Pipsqueak to sleep

9:45 working on a blog post

10:00 working on a blog post while kids play outside

10:15 nursing Pipsqueak

10:30 getting checked over by midwife

10:45 getting checked over by midwife

11:00 nursing Pipsqueak

11:15 eating lunch

11:30 emptying the dishwasher

11:45 making cookies

12:00 working on a blog post

12:15 cleaning up the kitchen/cookie mess

12:30 potty-sitting Doodle

1:30 dropping girls off at geography class

1:45 running through the rain with the boys

2:00 at Target

2:15 driving back to get the girls

2:30 discussing how class was with the girls

2:45 looking through the mail

3:00 reading to Doodle before nap

3:30 snuggling Pipsqueak, watching Orange is the New Black

3:45 having a snack, watching Orange is the New Black

4:00 working on a blog post, watching Orange is the New Black

4:30 getting Doodle a snack

4:45 nursing Pipsqueak

5:00 snuggling Pipsqueak

5:15 breaking up an argument between Doodle, Sugarplum and Honeybun about the sillies and who can sit where

5:30 watching in disbelief as the three throw sight word cards all over the living room

5:45 helping the kids clean up

6:00 thinking about what to make for dinner

6:15 watching the girls practice gymnastics in the yard

6:30 nursing Pipsqueak

6:45 making dinner

7:00 eating dinner

7:15 washing dishes

7:30 watching the Republican debate while Sugarplum does my hair

7:45 heading upstairs to get kiddos ready for bed

8:00 trying to calm down Pipsqueak while hubby reads to Doodle

8:15 nursing Pipsqueak
