Noble Juices

noble juicesI’m a mean mommy and don’t often give my kids juice, but when I do, I like to make sure it is the best possible with nothing extra added.

Seminole Pride Noble Juices are just that: 100% juice, not from concentrate and no “extras”.  Just pure juice, fresh from the fruit, hand-picked at its peak.  The Roe family has been providing top quality fruit and juices since 1927, working together over four generations to build Noble Juices and now offers over ten varieties of juices (in two lines: Naturally Pure and Purely Organic), packaged in 100% sustainable bottles made on site to minimize Noble Juice’s environmental footprint.  Noble juices is now a part of the Seminole Pride family which has been protecting and treasuring the land, air and water of Florida for nearly 500 years.

wpid-IMAG1238.jpgI found Noble Juices at my local Publix store in the refrigerated fresh juice section of the produce department (in my local store they were way at the bottom).  We tried the 100% Pure Tangerine; 100% Pure Tangerine Clementine; and Naturally Pure Blood Orange.

I decided to have the girls do a juice taste test (and used it as a science project for Honeybun) to see which was their favorite.  The girls looked at, smelled and tasted each juice and Honeybun recorded her observations.  She decided the Blood Orange looked the best, the Tangerine smelled the best and the Tangerine Clementine tasted the best with the Tangerine Clementine coming out as the overall favorite.

That night I used the Blood Orange juice in one of our family’s favorite (and easiest) recipes, in place of the lime juice I usually use.  It’s a chicken wrap recipe I created after hubby had surgery back when we were in college and I had a similar sandwich in the hospital cafe that I loved (weird, I know…good hospital food?)  What I love about it is not just how easy it is but also how versatile it is.

SONY DSCBlood Orange Chicken Wraps:

Ingredients:

  • Chicken (split breasts, tenderloins or strips)
  • Blood Orange juice (or another citrus juice like lime, lemon or orange)
  • Olive Oil
  • Avocado
  • Mayo (or Miracle Whip, Ranch or your favorite sauce/dressing)
  • Cheese (I like swiss but you can use your favorite sliced cheese)
  • Tortillas (or pitas or buns)

Cook the chicken in the olive oil and juice until cooked through.  Assemble the mayo, chicken, avocado and cheese on the tortilla and cover for a minute to allow the cheese to melt.  Wrap up and enjoy!

I also used the juice to make baby, little kid and big kid drinks.

SONY DSCSONY DSCDue to Doodle’s many food sensitivities (including wheat, dairy and corn), I have to rely on pure and simple foods to feed him and Noble Juices fit right in.  I made him a dairy-free baby smoothie with soy yogurt, a banana and the 100% Pure Tangerine juice.  It was his first smoothie and with the refreshing sweetness of the tangerine juice he drank it right up!

SONY DSCSONY DSCThe girls chose to make their smoothie with strawberry honey kefir; frozen strawberries and blueberries; and the 100% Pure Tangerine juice.  It’s a special treat when they get to have a smoothie and both devoured it, telling me it was “extra delicious” this time!

For our “big kid” drinks I decided to dig out the awesome vintage Bartender’s guide my Gran’ma gave hubby years ago and find some new cocktail recipes.  I’m not a big drinker (and when I do I generally go for beer or maybe wine) but with everything going on in life, I have to admit hubby and I were excited to dive into a drink, relaxing on the back patio while the kids played.

For myself I made a Blood and Sand cocktail using the Purely Natural Blood Orange juice. It was heavenly, just what I needed at the end of a stressful week that came at the end of a stressful month!

I made hubby a Tango cocktail, since gin is his favorite, with the 100% Tangerine juice in place of the orange juice and though he found the color a little funny (tangerine juice+blue curacao) he thought it was delicious and said he could taste the extra goodness of the tangerine juice versus regular orange juice.
