Jiggely Jell-o

wpid-IMAG1026.jpgOne of my favorite sensory activities to do with young children is playing with jell-o.  It’s multi-sensory since it smells, has a flavor (if they happen to taste test it) and has many touch sensations including being cold, slimy, squishy, smooth and soft.  It’s also super easy, doesn’t require a lot of prep or a lot of cleanup!

I usually make the jell-o following the instructions for jigglers.  When the jell-o is set, I let the older kids use cookie cutters to cut out shapes.  Inevitably they end up just squishing it in their hands and exploring the way it feels in their hands.
